Saint-Gobain Africa and Lagata have entered into a joint venture in Nigeria

Saint-Gobain Africa and Lagata have entered into a joint venture in Nigeria to manufacture and sell a wide range of construction materials including tile adhesives, combining Saint-Gobain’s recognized technical expertise and Lagata’s proven track-record of Nigerian markets. The manufacturing plant in Nigeria was completed and started operations in September 2023.

Considering Nigeria's status as one of the fastest-growing countries in Africa, the joint venture seeks to seize the opportunity to deliver top-tier international products at compelling prices to meet the needs of the Nigerian market.

The manufacturing and trading company is known as “Saint-Gobain Weber Nigeria Limited” and the products manufactured are sold under “Weber” brand.

Saint-Gobain, worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction, designs, manufactures and distributes materials and services for the construction and industrial markets.

As of 2022, Saint-Gobain employed over 168,000 people across 75 countries globally and has established a notable presence in Africa over the years.

Weber, a Saint-Gobain brand is worldwide leader in mortar-based solutions with almost 200 production units across 61 countries.

Weber leverages Saint-Gobain's extensive R&D prowess and history in material development, harnessing their expertise to create trusted solutions to provide improved strength, user-friendly application, extended durability, and enhanced efficiency.

Lagata is one of the largest and long-standing investment groups operating in Sub-Saharan Africa, with key investment focus on six different sectors including Agro-Processing, Construction Materials, FMCG, Forestry, Natural Resources, and Packaging, and has 30+ manufacturing sites, with over 100 product ranges, working in 15 countries and employing over 10,000 people.
